New Story Charity began in 2014 and was founded by Michael Arrieta, DocuSign Chief of Staff to Chairman, and DocuSign CEO Keith Krach. Therefore, it is no surprise that DocuSign as a company works so closely with New Story Charity to do so many great things.
New Story Charity, a crowd-funding nonprofit whose mission is to provide safe homes for families living in the world’s most dangerous and poverty-stricken conditions, recently announced that it relies on DocuSign and their Digital Transaction Management (DTM) platform and eSignature technology to eliminate some of their cost inefficiencies and increase the efficiency with which they process paperwork.
Most recently, the addition of DocuSign to their business practices has made it possible for New Story to set out on an ambitious project in Haiti: to build 100 homes in 100 days for struggling families. The project turned out to be a success–and only required 91 days!
“DocuSign has made it possible for New Story to operate 100 percent digitally in the field—removing the hassles and costs that traditional charities take on with paper processes,” says Arrieta. “I’m grateful to work for an organization like DocuSign, where the company culture is infused with a philanthropic ethos that allows employees to drive positive change in the world. With the launch of DocuSign Impact, I’m now able to use volunteer time off to fulfill my personal passion of bringing new homes to families in need so they can start their own new story.”
“We’re excited to bring the power of DocuSign to nonprofits through DocuSign Impact, transforming lives by transforming charities,” says DocuSign Impact Executive Director Amy Skeeters-Behrens. “Mike is a tremendous asset to DocuSign’s business, but as co-founder of a nonprofit like New Story, he sets a tremendous example of what it means to have a broader impact on the world around us. I’m proud of the employees across the DocuSign family who are working to enrich the communities around them.”
Many charities, organizations, and groups of people have flocked to Haiti during the past five years to offer aid following a devastating 2010 earthquake. There is still a lot of work to be done, which makes the work that New Story and DocuSign do all the better!
