Paul and Daisy Soros are among the top 50 most generous philanthropists in the world, having donated approximately $25 million in 2010 alone. The couple began a fellowship program called the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans which goes towards higher education of new immigrants to the United States. To date, they have supported almost four hundred students. Their passion is inspired by Paul Soros’s experience in 1948 when he was accepted to several prestigious schools, but as a Hungarian immigrant, he couldn’t afford to attend them.
Today Daisy Soros serves on the board of the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts where she helps spread the arts to the masses. In keeping with that goal, she also serves as secretary to the New York Philharmonic.
